Tips on Preventing Heart Attack


Because of our modern diets, almost everybody is a walking time-bomb for a heart attack. Can we do something about it? Sure we can. It's within our power to prevent premature death from heart attack. The obstacle for many is, it requires consistent efforts to do so.

The first step to prevent a heart attack is to live a heart healthy lifestyle, which involves eating a healthy diet that include a variety of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Lean meats, poultry, fish, beans and fat-free or low-fat milk products are also part of a heart healthy diet. To reduce your blood cholesterol choose a diet low in saturated and trans fats. Reduced salt and sugars are also helpful to a heart healthy diet.
